Sri Lanka npower Test Match and India NatWest Series One Day International dates confirmed for 2011
The England & Wales Cricket Board have announced the dates of the 2011 international fixtures including The Rose Bowl’s historic, inaugural Test match.
The Rose Bowl will stage the third npower Test match between England and Sri Lanka on Thursday 16 to Monday 20 June then on Tuesday 6 September the ground will host England and India in a floodlit NatWest Series One Day International.
Rose Bowl plc Chairman, Rod Bransgrove said; "2011 will be an historic year for The Rose Bowl with our arrival on to the Test Match scene.
"In one sense this is the culmination of years of planning and hard work but in another sense it is only the beginning of our future as one of the major international cricket grounds in the world.
"Thursday 16 June 2011 will be a very special and proud day for The Rose Bowl and everyone associated with it."
The Test match is the last in the three match npower Test Series between England and Sri Lanka who are currently ranked third in the ICC Test Rankings and who will no doubt provide serious opposition to a resurgent England side.
The NatWest Series One Day International is the second match in a series of five between England and the giants of the one day game, India.
