Eve Of ODI Dinner Review
EVE OF THE ONE DAY INTERNATIONAL DINNER
ENGLAND V AUSTRALIA
Tuesday 8th September 2009
The International Dinner hosted in the Hampshire Suite at The Rose Bowl home of Hampshire Cricket played host to some of the biggest names in cricket and will be a night remembered by all who attended. Not only was the food outstanding, the atmosphere electric but the sweet serenading of Brett Lee and Shane Watson singing ‘Oasis’ and ‘Verve’ tracks will be something special to remember by everyone who attended.
The evening commenced with a drinks reception held in the atrium pavilion, guests were then called to their seats for the evening’s entertainment which was provided by Mark Nicholas.
A four course 5 star menu inspired by Matthew Hayden was enjoyed by guests on the night including a chicken and basil terrine followed by Roast Rack of Wiltshire Pork and a scrumptious Chocolate and Raspberry Torte served with Wolfblass Bilyara Shiraz & Chardonnay.
An exciting Q&A session followed dinner with some of the biggest names in cricket; Shane Watson, Brett Lee and Ian Botham; Mark Nicholas fired questions on a matter of all topics from this year’s Ashes to the 2005 Ashes. Ian Botham instigated Allan Lamb and Dickie Bird in some very funny stories and Brett Lee even confessed that he secretly dreams of becoming a Hampshire Hawk one day.
