The Rose Bowl Fireworks Spectacular 2008
Fireworks 2008
The Rose Bowl Fireworks Spectacular 2008 proved to be the most impressive yet at the venue.
Over 7000 people attended the 8th annual Rose Bowl Fireworks Spectacular on Friday 7th November. The event took place on a chilly evening, but even a shower of rain did not dampen the atmosphere at the venue with the crowd enjoying the funfair, entertainment, food and drink throughout the evening.
Wave105's Steve Power provided the pre-fireworks entertainment and X-Factor band Hope proved a huge hit with their Abba cover 'Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie..' along with their own material. Hope then joined Hampshire mascot, Harry The Hawk, to start the fireworks.
The fireworks themselves gave a spectacular 20 minute display to the theme of 'The Olympics', celebrating Team GB's success at Beijing and looking forward to London 2012. Tracks such as Van Halen's 'Jump' and Queen's 'Bicycle Race' were accompanied by a fantastic array of starbursts, waterfalls and spinners.
