McKenzie to Captain Royals v Foxes

A look ahead to Saturday's Clydesdale Bank 40 match against the Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road.

With Hampshire unable to make the knock out stages of this competition Dominic Cork and Sean Ervine are rested for the Royals’ trip to Leicestershire.

That means as opportunity for Neil McKenzie to captain the side in his final match of the season for the club before he returns to South Africa to take part in the Champions League.

Youngsters, Benny Howell and Hamza Riazuddin will also make the trip to join up with the squad. Howell made his List A debut in the reverse fixture at The Rose Bowl 2 weeks ago, taking a wicket and scoring 12 runs with the bat.

The rest of the squad will be the same as that which played against the Kent Spitfires last week.

The Opposition:

Leicestershire are also playing merely for pride in this fixture which is both teams’ final limited overs match of the season.

Although no squad has yet been announced, the Foxes are expected to put out a young side, much as they did at The Rose Bowl.

The club has reduced ticket prices to £5 for adults and free for children. Acting Chief Executive Mike Siddall said: “We wanted to reward our supporters by making this special offer.

"With no Leicester City game this weekend and Tigers playing away on Sunday we are hoping for a good crowd for this season’s final one day game against a Hampshire side that recently lifted the FPt20 trophy.”
