Hampshire Cricket Agrees Release of Chris Tremlett
Hampshire Cricket has agreed to release fast bowler Chris Tremlett who will join Surrey Cricket with immediate effect.
Rod Bransgrove, Chairman of Hampshire Cricket said
‘Chris Tremlett has been a great servant to Hampshire Cricket and many of our fans and members will have enjoyed seeing him grow, quite literally, through the ranks of the junior age range squads and on to our First Team. However, Chris and the Club have agreed that a new environment will help to challenge and revitalise his career at both domestic and International level and he has therefore been released from his contract with immediate effect. Whilst it is very sad to see Chris go, I sincerely hope that this move will allow him to regain the cutting edge we all know he possesses and give him the best chance of re-capturing a place in the England team.
On behalf of Hampshire Cricket I would like to thank Chris for his contribution and wish him the very best of luck in the next chapter of his cricketing career.’
Chris Tremlett said
‘I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hampshire and I would like to thank the Club for all their support throughout my career to date. I am really looking forward to joining Surrey and feel that this move is the right thing for me and for Hampshire Cricket. I’d like to wish the Club the best of luck on the field and also with the exciting Rose Bowl ground development.’
