Hampshire Cricket Golf Day 2009
Monday 3rd August 2009
This year’s Hampshire Cricket Charity Golf Day hosted at the Remedy Oak golf course in Dorset was a huge success both for Hampshire Cricket and the Hampshire Autistic Society the charity in aid of the event.
This superbly constructed new course is one of the finest in the south of England; it nestles within 256 acres of beautiful woodland. The 18 teams enjoyed some very interesting and challenging holes on the day; however it was Jeremy Peck and his guests who claimed victory on the day in the glorious sunshine.
A day’s golf was followed by wine tasting in the golf house kindly sponsored by Fosters EMEA ltd, followed by a scrumptious three course meal of smoked salmon, slow braised shank of English Lamb and finished with a refreshing seasonal berry mousse. Later on the evening Dominic Cork awarded the prize winners and entertained guests with a raffle draw and orchestrated a truly unique traditional auction prize; an opportunity to sit with Ian Botham, Kevin Pietersen and Shane Watson at the eve of the One day international dinner.
The efforts by all on the day raised a fantastic contribution we are able to award the Hampshire Autistic Society, Sally Hillyear said ‘I think the teams all had fun and it went so well with the weather’. Sally kindly spoke on the night to guests about the society and the work they do within the Hampshire community.
