Hampshire looking forward to return to Mays Bounty

Now that the Twenty20 season has reached its climax, attention returns to the longer form of the Game, the LV County Championship.

Hampshire’s recent draw, away to Lancashire, lifted them from bottom place in Division 1 and with six matches still to play, there is plenty of time to climb the table.

August 27th will see the return of Hampshire Cricket to Basingstoke’s Mays Bounty ground when they take on Durham. This will be the first time that Hampshire First XI cricket has been played at the ground since 2000 and everyone at Hampshire and Basingstoke is looking forward to the return.

Hampshire’s Director of Cricket, Tim Tremlett, said “Hampshire’s association with Basingstoke goes back many years. The team’s track record, allied to the tremendous support that they have always received from the local community bodes well for this renewed partnership.”

Basingstoke Chairman, Steve Rayner commented: “The news that Hampshire had agreed to return to Mays Bounty was excellent for Basingstoke and cricket lovers in the area. It reinstates Mays Bounty as a County Ground and I am sure that the town and its business community in particular will get right behind this historic event and make it a huge success for the Basingstoke and for cricket in the North of Hampshire.”

There are a number of high quality hospitality and sponsorship opportunities which will provide excellent entertaining and advertising opportunities for local businesses.
