Liam Dawson signs new 3 year contract

Hampshire Cricket is delighted to announce that Liam Dawson has signed a new 3 year contract with the Club.

The left-arm spinner and middle order batsman, is one of the country’s most exciting young players and he has already represented England at Under 19 level in 4 youth Tests and 18 youth ODIs. He has played a major role with both bat and ball, in Hampshire’s return to form in the second half of this season, including picking up two Man-of-the-Match awards in NatWest Pro40 matches.

Earlier this month Dawson was nominated alongside England and Nottinghamshire seamer Stuart Broad, England and Essex all-rounder Ravi Bopara and Kent opener Joe Denly for the prestigious Young Cricketer of the Year Award.

Giles White, acting Team Manager said:

“The long term deal that Liam has been offered reflects how highly he is regarded.  We see him playing a big part in Hampshire Cricket’s future.   I can’t think of a more exciting young prospect in the country.”

Liam Dawson said:

“I’m delighted to have signed a new 3 year contract with Hampshire.  The Club has shown a lot of faith in me and I hope to repay with good performances.”
