Michael Lumb Injury Update

Hampshire batsman, Michael Lumb has suffered a fractured foot which will rule him out of the rest of the season.

Hampshire batsman, Michael Lumb has suffered a fractured foot which will rule him out of the rest of the season. Lumb sustained the injury during day three of Hampshire’s LV=County Championship match against Somerset on Wednesday.

Following an x-ray later that evening, Hampshire Cricket can confirm that the England twenty20 World Cup winner will be unavailable for around six weeks.

The injury means Lumb will play no part in t20 Finals Day at The Rose Bowl this Saturday.

Dominic Cork and Sean Ervine, who also left the field against Somerset, are not thought to be seriously injured and coaching staff are hopeful they will take part in Finals Day.
