A look ahead to Saturday's Friends Provident t20 match against the Middlesex Panthers at Uxbridge.

Middlesex Panthers v Hampshire Royals
Friends Provident t20
Saturday 10th July 2010 (14.30 start)
Uxbridge

Club captain, Dimitri Mascarenhas is back in contention for Saturday’s match, having pulled out of the opening game of the Friends Provident t20 competition with a reoccurrence of his Achilles injury.

The three overs Mascarenhas bowled in that match have been the only action Hants fans have seen of their skipper this season. However, even in his short cameo, Dimi did manage to take the wicket of Kent opener, Robert Key.

Apart from that, the squad will be much the same as that which plays Somerset on Friday night, and could see the inclusion of Dan Christian and Adbul Razzaq – both of whom have been missing lately.

The match marks the first fixture between the two sides this season, with the return fixture being at The Rose Bowl less than a week [Friday 16th July] after this match.

The Opposition:

The Panthers welcome Iain O’Brien back into their squad. The team’s overseas player has been out of action with the hamstring injury sustained during Middlesex’s LV=CC match against Leicestershire at the end of May.

Fellow fast bowler, Steven Finn may also be allowed to return from England duty. Of course, the team remain without big names, Andrew Strauss and Eoin Morgan, who are remain with their country.

Apart from that, the team remains the same as that which faces Surrey at The Brit Oval on Thursday night.

The hosts will be looking to overturn a recent dip in form which has seen them lose out to Somerset, Gloucestershire and Glamorgan in this competition.

Hampshire Squad:

4  Jimmy Adams
5  Abdul Razzaq
7  Sean Ervine
8  Liam Dawson
9  Nic Pothas
10  Simon Jones
12  Dominic Cork
14  James Vince

15  Michael Carberry
17  Dimitri Mascarenhas
19  Danny Briggs
20  Chris Benham
25  Chris Wood
27  Neil McKenzie
28  Dan Christian
