James Tomlinson receives his Hampshire cap

Winchester born left-handed bowler James Tomlinson was capped today in front of a home crowd.  The 26 year old made his First-class debut for Hampshire in 2002 and has been devoted to Hampshire ever since.  He has enjoyed a productive season and is currently the leading wicket-taker in the LV County Championship with a magnificent 51 wickets.

In recognition of his great performance during the season, Tomlinson was capped before the start of today’s play by Hampshire Chairman Rod Bransgrove on Day 1 of Hampshire’s LV County Championship match against Somerset.

James Tomlinson said:

“Receiving my county cap today is a dream come true and something I have worked incredibly hard for.  I have enjoyed delivering a consistent performance on the field and I will continue to concentrate during this extremely crucial time of the season.”
