United in a Good Cause
On 4th and 5th October local cricketers and footballers will come together to complete a fancy dress sponsored walk in aid of the Hampshire Autistic Society.
Setting the pace will be our very own Shaun Udal, whose son Jack was diagnosed with autism last year. He will be joined by First XI team mates including Dimitri Mascarenhas, Nic Pothas, Michael Lumb and John Crawley to walk from Southampton to Winchester and back again. Football will be represented by Mark Dennis and Hampshire Autistic Society ambassadors Matt Le Tissier and Klaus Lundekvam.
There are a number of ways that Hampshire fans can support the walk. Firstly, on Thursday 4th there will be an evening drinks reception at the Winchester Hotel. Tickets for this are an absolute bargain at just £5 – it’s the perfect opportunity to chat to Shaun and the others about why they have chosen to do the walk.
After the walk on Friday 5th, the celebrations will be held at the POSH Indian Restaurant in Southampton. Tickets for the party cost £20 and include an all you can eat buffet as well as a disco and cabaret.
To buy tickets for either event or simply donate to this great local cause, contact Kerry James on 01489 880881 ext 204, or visit the Hampshire Autistic Society website at www.has.org.uk.
