Rain ruins Yorkshire clash
ECB Match Report
Yorkshire’s season ended on a damp note after rain washed out the final day of their LV County Championship game against Hampshire at Headingley Carnegie.
With torrential rain having prevented any play on the third day, the pitch failed to dry sufficiently to allow Hampshire to resume their first innings on 244 for four in reply to Yorkshire's 195.
Umpires Peter Hartley and Rob Bailey made an inspection at 9.30am, and, with no prospect of play, the match was abandoned as a draw.
Hartley said: “After the amount of rain that fell yesterday the top end (Kirkstall Lane End) is a bog.
“The groundstaff have tried to remove the surface water, but as there has been little rain here in the last six weeks the water just keeps coming back to the surface.
“The bowler's run-ups are dangerous and therefore we have had to make the decision to abandon the match."

As a result Hampshire take 8 points and Yorkshire 5 points from the abandoned match. Hampshire finish above Yorkshire in fourth place in Division One.
