Kabir Ali
After 11 years at New Road with Worcestershire, Ali has moved to pastures new for the 2010 season, and the former England seam bowler will bring plenty of zip and experience to the Hampshire attack. A single Test appearance, against South Africa in 2003, saw him take 3 for 80 in the first innings, including the scalp of Neil McKenzie, another new Hampshire signing. Since then his opportunities have been limited for England, with just 14 One Day Internationals to his name, including that infamous final over at Bloemfontein where he saved the match for his country. At First Class level, an average of 17.8 and 429 wickets mean the signing of Ali is a shrewd one.
