Hampshire Cricket Board
The Hampshire Cricket Board (HCB) is affiliated to the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and works in partnership with Hampshire Cricket.
The Board is responsible for all forms of recreational cricket in Hampshire and is accountable to the ECB for the development of the game in Hampshire. HCB work in partnership with all professional and recreational cricketing bodies and other local and national agencies.
HCB’s objectives are:-
- To nurture the game of cricket at the recreational level
- To increase the levels of participation in cricket be they playing, umpiring, scoring, groundsmanship, administration or supporting
- To identify talent
- To provide the opportunities for all players to play at the highest level that their ambition and talent allows
- To liaise with Hampshire Cricket in the development of future county players
We aim to achieve these objectives by:
- Providing HCB affiliated clubs with the advice and support needed to ensure a vibrant game
- Maximising the opportunity for schools to access quality coaching, cricket competitions and to ensure children have clear exit routes to local accredited clubs.
- Creating an environment in which cricketers can reach their maximum potential to the benefit of District and Hampshire teams.
- Maintaining and developing participation and competition opportunities for disabled people.
- Meeting the needs of clubs volunteers through a programme of active recruitment, training, retention and reward for volunteers.
