Overview

Hampshire has enjoyed exciting seasons in the Liverpool Victoria County Championship in recent years. Runners up in 2005, placed third in 2006, and fifth in 2007, although it was of a close run competition to the end of the season.

It is probably fair to say that this is the trophy the Hampshire faithful would most like to see sitting in the glass display case in The Rose Bowl’s Atrium. This is the competition that will steal our hearts and minds all summer.

But win or not, the County Championship match days are when The Rose Bowl comes into its own. It’s a perfect backdrop for a game that requires as much or as little concentration as you want to give it. And if you wander off to the bar, or have to seek a little shade for a while, your neighbour will always update you on the action when you return. To be honest, there can be few better ways to spend a summer afternoon than watching John Crawley stroke his way to a century, or witness Mascarenhas and Tremlett bowl through the opposition’s wilting attack.

Tickets are available on the day of the match and not in advance. Tickets are £15 for Adults, £12 for Seniors and Students, and £5 for juniors. Car Parking is available on site for these matches priced at £7 per vehicle.

Matches start at 11:00am and close of play is 6:00pm. (Gates open at 9:00am)
Times are brought forward by 30 minutes for September matches.
