Neil McKenzie
A veteran of 56 Test matches and over 3,000 test runs, Neil McKenzie is the perfect addition to the Hampshire middle order. It didn’t take long for the South African to establish himself on the international stage, with maiden centuries in both Test and One Day environments inside his first year for the Proteas. The 34 year old is well known for being a perfect rear-guard batsman, as England found out their cost during their tour in 2008, which saw McKenzie hit 138 during a 9 hour stint at the crease; a knock that guided his side to a draw, and eventually a series win. A career best knock of 226 came during a 415 run partnership, against Bangladesh and set the world record for a first wicket partnership with Graeme Smith.
