NatWest Pro40 League Division One (Pro40)
Overview
This forty over competition is its third year, after taking over from ‘Sunday League’ matches in 2006. And if 2008 is anywhere near as exciting for the Hawks, then we are all facing another roller coaster ride.
Hampshire play in the first division of this two tier competition having beaten Glamorgan in the play offs in 2006. At the play off stage, the worst performing teams in the top division play the best of the lower league to decide which team moves up and which drops down.
The Pro40 starts as soon as Twenty20 finishes and Hampshire’s first match of the competition is an away match against the Nottinghamshire Outlaws at Trent Bridge on Sunday 20th July. Our first home match takes place on Sunday 3rd August against Lancashire Lightning.

Lancashire captain Stuart Law has played 58 one day matches for Australia. He recorded his highest score, and only century vs Zimbabwe (110).
In 2004, the corresponding match saw Hampshire lose by 1 run!
